PROJECTS

Can we play here

Can we play here is an ongoing research process into play and dance, particularly in site specific locations. This research process was started during a yearlong residency for the LUNAPARK.Residency Scholarships, supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion in 2025.

Rather than culminating in a singular performance or work, this research process has become a long-term project that will nourish and inform my movement practice and propagate multiple outcomes, including writing on my research, outdoor performance, video work workshop and teaching possibilities with both adults and children.

So far, I’ve been working with Producer and DJ Oatmilk to curate and produce outdoor performances with a rave organisers mind-set. We had our first open research showing in October 2025.

This process changed my perspective on dance and how it’s practiced, shifting my focus from the studio, the stage, governmental state driven structures or companies, to small scale community driven, outdoor spaces and structures. This means low budget organisation and self-funded activity where success depends more on the community, rather than status within the dance/arts scene or the success of funding application grinding.

During this year there will be multiple events planned under the umbrella of this project!
